Finding
creative solutions to complex challenges has been a hallmark of Jim Johnson's
career. He is always searching for the way to help others to break through
the apparent logjam that holds back progress.
Jim received a Bachelors Degree from The Johns-Hopkins University 1973. His first job was teaching, initially in the US and later in Europe. Earning his living "by the lesson" in Europe taught him something very important. "The only way to insure continuous learning was to be certain that the client perceived real value, that they could see the benefit from the information I had to offer."
Johnson has a long track record of successfully managing complex economic development projects and providing creative solutions. He helped transform winter ski areas into year round resorts in marketing leadership positions in Colorado and California resorts. During the 80's, Jim honed his leadership skills as a key member of the Holiday Inn and Hilton executive groups. In fiercely competitive markets, his teams consistently increased revenues while trimming expenses through innovative strategic alliances and partnerships. In the 90's Jim's skills were heavily used as he helped spearhead a landmark capital campaign for the University of Nevada. The campaign easily exceeded its goal of $105 million, generating over $124 million for higher education and world-class research in Nevada.
In 1990, Jim embarked on a leadership development practice dedicated to helping leaders & organizations increase profitability and achieve their long-term performance through measurable improvement of the people within an operation.
